This 2013 Danbury High Hall of Fame Inductee made thirteen unassisted tackles in the 1966 Nutmeg Bowl. His senior year, Warren was named second team All-State, All-FCIAC and received twenty-five scholarship offers to play college football. Vice-President of his class for four years, Warren also participated in track his freshman year. After his terrific performance in the 1966 Nutmeg Bowl, Warren signed on to play football at the University of Rhode Island. While at URI, Warren was a three year starter and was honored many times by the Yankee Conference as an All-East team selection for player of the week. He received the Le Boet Memorial Award as outstanding senior student athlete. A prominent sports cartoonist named him the "Danbury Dandy" after Warren tackled the Boston University quarterback three times on one set of downs. He was named to URI's 'Team of Decade' in the 1960's. After his graduation from the University of Rhode Island in 1971 with a degree in finance, Warren travelled to Montreal and the Canadian Football League. He left CFL camp for tryouts with Sam Rotigliano of New England and Web Eubank of the New York Jets. He ended up playing for a year with the Hartford Knights and a year with the Bridgeport Jets. After his career in football ended, Warren took a job with Northwestern Mutual and managed the Washington DC office. He is currently Managing Partner of Performance Systems of Charlotte, North Carolina and owner of Negri Consulting of Arlington, Virginia. Warren is proud of the foundation of hard work and team play that he got from his years at Danbury High School.
