This 2019 Danbury High School Athletic Hall of Fame inductee was the starting offensive guard for the FCIAC Football Championship team, Glenn Holmes. Danbury High won the FCIAC Football Championship when Glenn was a junior. By the time Glenn entered his senior year, Coach Gus Edwards moved him to tackle, where he played both the offensive and defensive sides. He was also voted sole captain for the 1977 season.

Glenn received many accolades his senior year. He was voted New Haven Register All-State first team offensive tackle. He was also recipient of the Arthur P. Caillouette Kiwanis Football Award. Glenn was also on the News-Times All Area team, Bridgeport Post first team offense, and the Sunday Post High School Football All-Star team. He was also voted All-FCIAC Western division offense. Aside from his many football awards, Glenn was also a star in the classroom. Glenn was a member of the National Honor Society and a State of Connecticut Scholar-Athlete. Glenn was also named a “student of the month” by the Danbury Exchange Club.

After his graduation from Danbury High School, Glenn earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Brown University. He was awarded a Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University. Glenn has enjoyed a long career with IBM serving in several capacities including circuit design engineer and manager and software design manager. He currently is Director of Business development team for IBM’s Research division in Yorktown, New York.
