Bob Morlock
(Football, 1955)
Bob Morlock excelled in
baseball and football, and is the second oldest brother of the Morlock
family who is being inducted into the 2010 Danbury High Hall of Fame.
1955 graduate Bob Morlock excelled on the football gridiron and on the
baseball diamond, being a three year starter in football and a two year
starter in baseball. Like most who played football for “Copper” Crotty,
the team record was much more important than personal records. The DHS
football team record during the three years Bob was a starter was 21-2.
After high school Bob served in the army until 1958 when he opened the
Morlock Construction Company, which is presently run by his son,
Michael. Athletically, Bob focused his attention on golf where he was a
member of the Newtown Country Club. He won numerous tournaments and even
teamed up with fellow Hall of Fame inductee Joe LaCava to win one of
the tournaments sponsored by the club. Sadly, Bob passed away in 2001
but is survived by his children Rob, Patty and Michael.
