DeMaine Dillard

This 2012 Hall of Fame
inductee is the only Danbury High School wrestler to have completed an
undefeated season, DeMaine Dillard. From the storied Danbury High
wrestling program, DeMaine amassed an incredible number of honors and
awards. From 1988 to 1990, the three years of DeMaine’s high school
career, the Danbury High wrestling team was 71-1. The team records were
1988, 25-1, 1989, 22-0, and 1990, 24-0. During those three seasons,
DeMaine, wrestling at the 189 pound weight class, was a two-time FCIAC
champion. He was a Class LL winner and State Open champ. In 1990, the
Danbury High wrestling team was the first Connecticut team to win the
New England Championship team title. That year, DeMaine was both the New
England champ and voted the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the New
England tournament. DeMaine’s personal three year wrestling record was
an incredible 106-10. Aside from all his wrestling accomplishments,
DeMaine was also a two-time All-FCIAC honoree for the Danbury High
football team under Coach Doug Morrell. He was a nose guard and a
center.
