Doug Elliot graduated from DHS in 1978. Another three-sport star, he excelled in Baseball, Football and Basketball. He was the baseball and football captain for two years. His achievements include selection to the All- Area and All-FCIAC baseball teams in 1978 as well as All-Area and All-FCIAC teams in football in 1977. He was also selected to the All Bridgeport teams in both football and baseball. In addition to that he was selected to the All-Daily News baseball team in 1978 as well as playing in the Connecticut High School All-Star game in 1978. Following high school, he attended the University of Connecticut and graduated in 1982. At UCONN he was a three year letterman and captain his senior year. Among his honors at UCONN, he made the All Yankee Conference team, as it was known then, in 1980 as well as being selected as the league Rookie of the Year. He also made the All Northeast Division I 2nd team in 1980 while leading UCONN in hitting with a .339 batting average as their catcher. During the summer of 1981 he played for the Orleans Cardinals of the Cape Cod League. He was voted into the UCONN School of Business Hall of Fame in 2004 and received the UCONN Club's Red O'Neill Award in 2006.
