Frank attended Lincoln Ave School and New Street School before heading to Danbury High School. While at DHS, he was an outstanding end and captain for Coach Gideon Roy’s football team. He held the mile record of 4.23 for many years at DHS. After his graduation, Frank went to Brown University where he played freshman football and boxed in the 150 lb. class for four years. He was the first male teacher in the Danbury elementary school system when he was hired to teach science at Main Street School in 1934. He served in the Army in World War II. Thousands of youngsters remember Frank as their Red Cross swimming instructor at Candlewood Lake. He was also a Cub Master and advisor to Explorer Scouts for over 30 years. Frank earned his doctorate from Columbia University and continued to make educational and civic contributions for many years.
