This 1974 graduate of Danbury High was a two sport standout in football and basketball. Kevin is fondly remembered as the quarterback who led Danbury High to an FCIAC championship in 1973. As a three year starter in football, Kevin led his team to a 22-5-1 record, culminating in the CIAC championship his senior year. Kevin played quarterback on offense and defensive safety. In Kevin's senior championship year, he threw for 800 yards, nine touchdowns and also ran for nine touchdowns. He was also the team punter and captain. Kevin's career passing yardage totaled 1,459. His senior season, he was all-area and All-FCIAC. That talented Danbury High football team also placed four other players on the FCIAC All-Star team that year: Larry Fuhrmann, Ken Ackell, Joe Caprio and Pete Laboy. A two year starter in basketball, Kevin's teams went 23-16. He was also basketball captain his senior year and led the team in assists in 1973 and 1974. Kevin also served as an assistant football coach at Danbury High School for five seasons to Coach Doug Morrell from 1988-1992. After graduating from Danbury High, Kevin continued his football career at Columbia University, starting at quarterback his last two seasons. In 1977, Columbia was chosen the ECAC team of the week in its game against Colgate with Kevin passing 19-34 for 287 yards and one touchdown.
