This 2012 inductee was a standout in soccer, basketball and baseball, 1991 graduate Robb Morgan. Robb not only played three major team sports, he was a major contributor to all three teams from 1988 to 1991. As a three year starter in soccer, he became the foundation of Danbury’s superlative defense on the first ever soccer State Championship team in 1990, his senior year. As a sophomore, Robb was a starter in the soccer state championship game that lost a 1-0 thriller to Glastonbury. Robb also played for three years on Danbury’s nationally ranked basketball teams and was a member of the 1989 Boys’ Basketball Class LL State Championship team, also being honored this year by the DHS Hall of Fame. As a senior he was a starter when Danbury lost a heartbreaker in the state championship final game to Weaver High School. For the baseball team, Robb was an offensive spark as the leadoff hitter on teams that competed each year for the conference championship. As in soccer and basketball, he was a defensive stalwart, playing centerfield, shortstop and catcher. Robb garner-ed many honors while in high school, including all-conference in soccer his senior year. After high school, Robb accepted a scholarship to Ohio State and embarked upon a stellar college soccer career. He was a four-year starter and three-year captain for the Buckeyes, playing some of the best soccer competition in the country. As in high school, Robb was an anchor for his college soccer team. He was named Ohio State’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player for three consecutive years. While at Ohio State, Robb received Big Ten recognition his sophomore, junior and senior years. After college, Robb worked as an assistant girls soccer coach at Dublin High School in Dublin, Ohio, helping the team win the Ohio soccer state championship. Robb is the pastor of the Delaware Vineyard Church and is currently leading an effort to eliminate hunger in that region of Ohio. An outstanding student and athlete at Danbury High and Ohio State, Robb is using his talents to improve the lives of people in his community.
