Chris Price
(Football, 1999)
The next inductee into the Danbury Hall of Fame is 1999 graduate Chris Price. Chris was a two sport star for the Hatters, playing football and running track all four years and his records in both sports are impressive. "Pricey" as he was called, came to Danbury with impressive credentials in basketball and football where he was on the Vikings Championship team in 1994. At DHS Chris continued with football but became enamored of a new sport, track and field. On the football field Chris had a good career being the Hatters leading ground gainer for Doug Morrell's teams in both the 1997 and 1998 seasons while being named to the All FCIAC team in 1998. His gridiron career, while very good, was in no way comparable to his track exploits. From 1996 through 1999 he was All FCIAC, All State, All New England and All American in the indoor long jump, the indoor 4x400 relay and the indoor 4x200 relay. After running through the indoor field Chris would take his show outside and from 1997-1999. He was, again, All FCIAC, All State, and All New England. He also held the school long jump record. After high school Chris attended Marist College on a football scholarship and focused on football. He was a running back and kick return specialist from 1999-2002. He holds the Marist record for rushing yards in a game with 199 yards and he was an All MAAC performer in 2002. He was named 2nd team All American in Don Hansen's Football Gazzete magazine and was twice the MAAC National Player of the Week.
