Robert Williams was a member of the Danbury High School class of 1973. He was a 24 year member of the Danbury Police Department and loved his many roles which included detective in the Youth Bureau, the General Investigation Unit, SWAT team member, and PBA president. Within the Danbury community, Bob contributed hundreds of coaching hours to the former Pop Warner Panthers. One of his Panther players was Mayor Mark Boughton. Bob also served on the Police Athletic League Board of Directors and was a director for this Danbury High School Athletic Hall of Fame. From 2000-2010, Bob volunteered at Danbury High School as an assistant football coach where he had the responsibilities of coaching the defensive line and wide receivers. Bob had many passions that brought him joy and defined his life, most especially his time as a Danbury police detective and coaching his "huckleberries" on the DHS football team until his death in November 2010. |
